The 9 Coolest New Music Venues in the World
Attention all gig-trippers!

By now, nearly everyone is familiar with The Sphere in Las Vegas. Countless people have walked by the structure while strolling down the Strip or seen it from the air as they land in the city. The exterior, after all, is a spectacle in its own right, a massive LED shell that often displays an eyeball, a smiley face, or some other picture-worthy backdrop destined to make the rounds on social media.
Meanwhile, many other people have actually been inside the arena to experience the one-of-a-kind visual presentation offered. A year after its opening, the state-of-the-art live events space has hosted dozens of concerts from legendary rock bands like U2, Dead & Co., and Phish. Eagles and Anyma, the venue’s first electronic act, are also coming before the end of 2024. While The Sphere is certainly a monument to live entertainment innovation, there are new, cool venues popping up all over the globe in 2024. Great shows are no longer relegated to a handful of cities. Music fans can enjoy them anywhere. Check out these nine venues below if you're looking for your next epic performance.

ABBA Arena
London, England
ABBA Voyage is one of the most incredible new productions in the modern age, and its venue was custom-built for the show. The ABBA Arena uses projection technology developed by Industrial Light & Magic (the company that did Star Wars) to create digital avatars, or ABBAtars, of the iconic quartet in their prime. Together, the ABBAtars rock classic hits like "Dancing Queen" and "Mamma Mia," pairing remastered vocal recordings with a 10-piece band performing live. The venue will only exist as long as the voyage continues, so check it out before it disappears.

Space Riccione
Riccione, Italy
When Space Ibiza closed back in 2016, the electronic music community mourned. Every summer season since 1989, eager raves would come to Ibiza to dance to the tunes of the best DJs at one of the most famous clubs in the world. Well, almost eight years later, Space found a new home in Europe: the Italian coastal paradise of Riccione. On June 2, 2024, Carl Cox christened the new club's main area between brisk palm trees and top-level visuals. The venue features three more areas and, for the first time in Space history, hosts live acts as well.

The Caverns
Pelham, Tennessee
Since 2021, The Caverns have been a rave cave. Tucked away in the wilderness of central Tennessee, this unique venue combines the natural world with contemporary event curation unlike anywhere else. It’s literally an underground cavern. Attendees are guided deep into the Earth, following the lights and sound stemming from the stage, which has welcomed the thundering beats of electronic titans like Sara Landry and SVDDEN DEATH. Electronic music first appeared in the most obscure environments. The Caverns provide that authentic experience without worrying about the ceiling collapsing.

The Other Side
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Sound is essential to quality live music, and The Other Side in Amsterdam delivers one of the best sound systems ever invented. The club features an L-Acoustics L-ISA immersive audio sound system, which uses spatial audio technology to turn a standard two-channel stereo signal into music that literally wraps around the whole room. When you step onto the dancefloor, you step inside the sound. Artists can also mix their music for spatial to give dancers a truly immersive experience.

UOB Live Bangkok
Bangkok, Thailand
Thailand has been a vacation hotspot for years, and as of February 2024, Bangkok has a world-class venue for enjoying live music as well. UOB Live, developed in collaboration with AEG (Coachella, Crypto.com Arena), sits on top of EMSPHERE, Bangkok’s premier shopping mall. So, after a day of exploring Thailand’s gorgeous beaches, you can come to EMSPHERE to check out some cool stores, eat a delicious meal, and then head right upstairs to see world-class artists like Tate Mcrae, Nile Rodgers, and LANY in a brand new venue.

OBLIQO
Sorocaba, Brazil
OBLIQO is the new nightclub opened by the prominent Brazilian electronic artist Mochakk. It's located in his hometown of Sorocaba, Brazil, about 90 minutes west of São Paulo. The layout and lighting are inspired by brutalist architecture. There are no large LED screens; instead, they opt for harder lines that complement the minimalist style of Mochakk's music. The sound system was designed with top-rated B&C speakers, and there is a gallery section dedicated to celebrating global electronic music culture.

Co-op Live
Manchester, England
Bigger isn't always better, but biggest is always impressive. Manchester's Co-op Live is the biggest indoor arena in Europe in terms of capacity; 23,500 fans can watch a concert there, and the arena was designed for music first. For fans who live on the rail, the main arena's acoustics were designed by Vanguardia, which also worked on London's O2 Arena and Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena. For those who prefer something more lavish, the venue offers numerous private suites and members clubs for premier luxury during the show.

The Bellwether
Los Angeles, California
LA's music history runs deep. Even when a new venue opens—as The Bellwether did in July 2023—chances are that venue has a storied past—as The Bellwether does. The building that now houses the newest independent venue in the City of Angels was once known as Glam Slam West, a nightclub owned by none other than Prince himself. Before that, it was known as Vertigo, an upscale club in the 1980s. Today, The Bellwether hosts impressive artists like Julien Baker, Built to Spill, and Modest Mouse in an environment that evokes history while implementing modern standards for live music.

Hindley Street Music Hall
Adelaide, Australia
There are great shows happening down under, and Hindley Street Music Hall is one of Australia's newest live music establishments. Sitting in the heart of Adelaide's West End, a glistening chandelier hangs above 1,800 guests who can enjoy energetic nights of dancing with artists like Caribou and the Melbourne Ska Orchestra. The venue is also equipped for comedy and live theater with cabaret configurations ready to welcome everyone for a comfortable evening of food, drinks, and entertainment.
