See All 5 Boroughs with This NYC Sightseeing Cruise

Circle Line Tours has been operating in the city for over 75 years. Meet the man who's been entertaining tourists for 30 of them.

Circle Line Tours has been operating in NYC since 1945. This famous sightseeing cruise shows riders all five of NYC's boroughs in just a three-hour boat ride.

“You can't see the city because of the buildings, the people, the noise,” tour commentator and deckhand David Parker said. “When you're out on the water, you actually have perspective.”

Many Circle Line Tours crew members have been with the company for several years. Parker started with Circle Line Tours 30 years ago. He even met his wife on the boat when she was a passenger. Anthony Nolasco, whose title is the combination deckhand/senior deckhand/training captain, began working with Circle Line Tours when he was 18, fresh out of high school.

“This was supposed to be a summer job,” Nolasco, who has been with the company for 10 years now, said. “And once I started, I fell in love with it.”

Like Nolasco, Kenneth Corcoran started with Circle Line Tours as a teenager and worked his way up to the captain's role, which he's held for over 30 years now.

Having started with the company in 1983, Corcoran estimates he has steered the boat 20,000 times, which equals approximately 300,000 miles. To him and the rest of his crew, Cruise Line Tours is a stage through which the crew can showcase the greatest city in the world, which keeps them endlessly entertained as well.

“People say, ‘Are you bored, seeing the same thing over again?’ No, the city's in flux. It's forever changing,” said Corcoran.
