Denver is a dog-loving city. It consistently ranks high on lists of US and global cities that are dog-friendly, and even if you’re just passing through, you’re sure to see several four-legged friends along the way. Given its large park system, walkability, proximity to large, open spaces, and plethora of pet care services, Denver is one of the easiest places to own a dog. So, it’s only fitting that its hotels—some of the nicest in the country—match the vibe. If you’re touching down for a brief visit or are treating yourself to a local getaway, these Denver hotels are your best bets for ensuring your pup enjoys a pampered stay.

The Rally Hotel

Ballpark
One of the liveliest hotels in the Denver metro area, The Rally is a stone’s throw from Coors Field and part of the microcity of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options that is McGregor Square. Now in its third year, the hotel has solidified itself as not only one of the nicer places to stay in Denver, but also one with constant event programming and a prime location with many walkable attractions.
Why you’ll love it: You don’t have to go very far to find what you’re looking for. Within McGregor Square itself is a food hall, sports bar, and rotating seasonal outdoor events, like winter ice rinks and summer movies and baseball games on the big screen. Within walking distance are more food, shopping, and entertainment options than you could imagine, and the hotel itself is sleek and playful, with a rooftop pool and bar overlooking the city.
Why your pet will love it: The Rally also happens to be one of the best dog-friendly hotels in the city, starting with no weight or size limits on pups, and a special bandana from The Rally at check-in to commemorate the trip. Pets are allowed in all parts of the property (except dining areas), dog beds, bowls, and treats are provided upon request, and you can rest easy knowing that 50% of your pet fee will be donated to Lifeline Puppy Rescue.
Pet fee: $50 per pet, per stay

Since its inception in 2017, The Maven has stood as an always-reliable accommodation in the heart of Denver. Modern design, comfortable rooms, and original, enticing packages from couples to self-care themes bolster its reputation as one of the nicest, most thoughtful hotels in the city.
Why you’ll love it: The Maven shares prime real estate with the likes of The Rally, The Crawford, and The Oxford, though you can get to all the goodness of Dairy Block from The Maven without having to step foot outside. Food, drink, boutique shopping, and coworking space are at your fingertips, as is the Michelin-Starred Brutø and underground speakeasy Run For The Roses. Also: indoor swings.
Why your pet will love it: You heard it here first: The Maven. Loves. Dogs. Like, seriously. For starters, Fido will be welcomed with dog treats at the front desk upon check-in, and in-room dog bowls and beds will be provided for maximum comfort. Guests also receive a detailed dog guide highlighting dog-friendly spots, parks, and places in town for time spent out of the room. But take your visit one step further with the “Fur-Ever Moments” add-on, where pet parents get a custom, in-room caricature of their fur baby, courtesy of Alias K. Masters Studio.
Pet fee: One-time $50 per pet clean-up fee, limit two dogs per room.

Central Business District
The building that houses Hotel Teatro has roots stretching back to the mid-1800s, and its clean lines, subtle textures, and simple style seem to play on that Old Western luxury and charm. A relaxed, comfortable place to stay, Hotel Teatro is steps from Larimer Square and the Denver Center for Performing Arts, and is home to The Nickel, an American restaurant named for the cost of early 1900s streetcars that carried tourists through Denver.
Why you’ll love it: The proximity to several attractions within walking distance is certainly a factor, though courtesy hotel transportation within 2.5 miles of the hotel is an additional perk. Then there are the little touches, like a daily, complimentary happy hour in The Study for when you need to unwind before dinner, or rotating works by local artists on display throughout the hotel.
Why your pet will love it: Hotel Teatro rivals every hotel on this list with its dedication to a pet’s comfortable stay; dogs stay for free and there is no weight limit, meaning even the biggest pooches can cozy up for a night or two. Dog amenities also include a pet goodie bag, with water bowls and dog beds available upon request, and the option to have the hotel arrange a “Pawdicure” at a nearby pet spa. And if that wasn’t enough, Hotel Teatro also works with a local, certified canine massage therapist who provides special therapeutic services for dogs, from calming relaxation massages to post-injury/post-surgical massages to speed a healing pet’s recovery time.
Pet fee: None!

Halcyon, a hotel in Cherry Creek

Cherry Creek
Halcyon remains one of Denver’s coolest, chicest hotels for a number of reasons, including its Gear Garage, rooftop pool, 24-hour coffee bar, and in-room record players with real vinyl (to name a few). Being the host to Local Jones is pretty sweet, too. But enjoying a lavish stay in Denver’s Cherry Creek doesn’t have to be exclusive to guests with two legs.
Why you’ll love it: Halcyon is the epitome of cool, right down to the smallest design touches, like gold accents and leather magazine racks. Its location within Cherry Creek is central and super walkable to an abundance of restaurants and shops, and the hotel valet makes life easier if you’ve got a personal or rental car. It’s a TAG Approved Accommodation and welcoming to all people, whether you’re active 24/7 or a total couch potato.
Why your pet will love it: Halcyon welcomes pups of all kinds for a stay, and four-legged guests of the hotel are even dubbed Halcyon Hounds. Pet-friendly gear is rentable at the Gear Garage for walks around the area, and homemade treats are available in-room for cozy staycations as well as at the Kitchen Counter on the ground level. Halcyon also provides nearby pet resources such as pet supply stores via an interactive map on its website.
Pet fee: $100 cleaning fee per stay, limit of two pets, 70 pounds (each) or less.

Union Station
The original Denver Union Station opened more than 140 years ago, making its mark as a focal point of Denver as both an architectural beauty and a transportation hub. Its renovation in 2014—including the creation of The Crawford Hotel—brought renewed life to the space, further revived by the flood of activity of the ground level of Union Station, from train passengers to those dining and imbibing at the building’s many offerings.
Why you’ll love it: The Crawford is a classic boutique hotel, blending industrial era-moments with modern design, whether that means exposed brick accent walls or regal, high-backed chairs and headboards complemented by minimalist marble bathrooms. If you’re traveling by train, it’s the perfect basecamp, though still an ideal spot to land if you’re taking other modes of transportation. All the necessities—and the beating heart of Denver—could not be closer.
Why your pet will love it: It’s essentially home away from home for your pet at The Crawford. Your room will come complete with a dog bed, matching water and food bowls, locally made dog treats, and a chew toy (score!) to check all the boxes for your furry friend. The front desk staff also have all the crucial details for pet-friendly places to walk, play, eat, and shop during your stay.
Pet fee: $50 per night, per pet, max weight of 60 pounds.

Central Business District
The minds behind the Kimpton brand want you to stay stylishly and comfortably and play hard in the Mile High. A polished, modern style is met with pops of color via headboards, wallpaper, and throw pillows to add a level of depth to your stay, all elements coming together for the remote worker, avid traveler, or resident staycationer. The building dates back to 1917, when it was originally a Railway Exchange Building, before getting a renovation to make it the beloved hotel it is today.
Why you’ll love it: Kimpton Monaco takes business travel seriously, but not in a way that makes it stuffy or pretentious. There’s always an enticing booking package or offer, from a shuttle to Red Rocks to the Rocky Mountain National Park Winter Wildlife and Snowshoe Adventure offer, which combines a guided snowshoe tour with a minimum two-night stay at Kimpton. Pasta dinner at Panzano is highly encouraged and well worth the elevator trip down to the lobby, as is checking out Kimpton’s suggested Denver attractions for those looking to explore the city.
Why your pet will love it: The Kimpton brand goes above and beyond to ensure pets and pet parents can travel with added peace of mind. In fact, Kimpton doesn’t limit “pet-friendly” to just dogs; “as long as they fit in the elevator,” they’re welcome to stay. There’s no weight limit or breed restrictions, and guests can enjoy water bowls delivered to their room, disposable waste pick-up bags, a concierge list of nearby pet-friendly restaurants, groomers, and pet boutiques, and door hangers to alert other hotel guests and staff that your cat, dog, or other pet is in the room. Kimpton has dedicated floors to travelers with pets and additional pet-friendly amenities at no extra charge, including the hotel concierge making any necessary arrangements for pet sitting and dog walking. Oh, and those staying with Kimpton get complimentary access to Wag! Premium during their stay, including 10% off all services booked, waived booking fees, and 24/7 vet chat.
Pet fee: Free! Plus, no limit on the number of pets allowed during your stay.

Catbird Hotel Denver

RiNo
Catbird is one of the premier Denver basecamps situated in the vibrant RiNo neighborhood. The industrial-chic, mid-century modern vibe extends throughout the space, making it feel familiar, welcoming, and like a true home away from home. The goal here is to invite guests of all kinds to stay however long they need to stay, knowing everything they could need is at their fingertips. So don’t worry about forgetting your film camera or fishing rod for your trek to the mountains—Catbird has you covered.
Why you’ll love it: The expansive rooftop terrace featuring The Red Barber lounge has some of the best views of the city, and being so close to all the happenings of RiNo without being right in the middle of the hubbub is a real perk. There are tons of excellent restaurants nearby, with dining, drinking, shopping, and entertainment options just a short walk or scooter ride away. But Catbird goes the extra mile with its amenities, encouraging visitors to book extended stays; Peloton bikes, laundry supplies, storage lockers, and access to rentable outdoor gear are all available for those looking for a place that feels more like home.
Why your pet will love it: Unlike most other hotels in the area, Catbird charges a one-time pet fee, no matter how long your stay. But part of that fee goes toward the Max Fund Animal Adoption Center, so really it’s for a good cause. Dogs receive a Welcome Pet Amenity upon arrival, with beds and bowls available upon request, and there are no breed or weight restrictions. Guests can also opt for the Dog Days of Summer package through August, which includes comfortable accommodations, a Klee chew toy, and locally made dog treats.
Pet fee: One-time fee of $75 up to 30 days (or per month for extended stays).

Union Station
The Oxford is another iconic Denver institution, first opened in 1891 as one of Downtown Denver’s first hotels. Always a beacon of luxury, class, and comfort, the landmark hotel has shifted over the years to keep up with changing trends and aesthetics, from the 1930s Art Deco style to major, modern renovations in the 1980s and early 2000s. It’s also home to The Cruise Room, which opened the day after the repeal of Prohibition in 1933 and has remained open since its founding, making it the longest-running bar in the city.
Why you’ll love it: The Oxford’s reputation and sheer resilience over the years speaks volumes about its dedication to the guest experience—when you stay here, you’re staying in style. Before you venture out to explore the many walkable sights (like Union Station, Dairy Block, and the rest of LoDo), indulge in the complimentary Bourbon Bar in the lobby daily from 5–7 pm, free access to classes in the fitness center, and 10% off services and retail at The Oxford Spa. After that, enjoy an array of discounts on nearby businesses, plus a top-tier meal at Urban Farmer just steps from the lobby.
Why your pet will love it: Though The Oxford does have certain restrictions (only dogs up to 100 pounds allowed), there are no breed restrictions. But homemade treats and water bowls are available upon request, and the walkable neighborhood surrounding the hotel means you and your pooch can stay active while taking in the sights and sounds of Denver.
Pet fee: $75 per night, maximum of two pets.

Union Station
Another centrally located hotel, Thompson Denver is situated where the Denver Tribune of the 1860s once stood. The hotel opened officially in 2022, and has since served as an intersection between the hustle of the Mile High and the cozy comfort of alpine lodges in the Rockies. Its modern, industrial design draws inspiration from newsprint as an homage to the lot’s history, and the warm interior is inviting to all.
Why you’ll love it: Prime location aside, there’s plenty to keep you busy without leaving the building. Dining at French restaurant Chez Maggy is an absolute must, and grabbing a beverage is easy and accessible from Duel Coffee or Bar M. But be sure to take the elevator up to Reynard Social if you feel like imbibing in a semi-secret cocktail bar with great views of the city; the apres-ski-inspired vibe is unlike any other bar around.
Why your pet will love it: No breed or weight restrictions makes Thompson extra dog-friendly, and whatever you need, the Thompson staff is ready to help. Water and food bowls and treats are available upon request, as is a preferred vendor list for pet-sitting and dog-walking services.
Pet fee: Free! Two pets max.
