The Wellness-Pilled Are Flocking to This $13,000 Hiking Trip Catered By Nobu

Join health-obsessed Angelenos, high-strung CEOs, and rich people of all flavors at the height of luxury in the Coachella Valley.

Every day it seems the height of luxury grows a little bit taller. From sea safaris with private butlers to lavish eco-resorts featuring stargazing spas, everyone (whether they want to admit it or not) craves extravagance sometimes. And the newest iteration of these ritzy retreats doesn’t even require ludicrous transportation—it’s only a two hour drive from LA.

Sensei Porcupine Creek is a luxury wellness resort in Rancho Mirage, California with a hefty price tag of over $1,000 a night. The desert retreat is owned by Silicon Valley giant Larry Ellison, and it has 22 rooms and 230 acres of pleasure for wellness-pilled Angelenos and overworked CEOs, all hoping to relax through one of its supposedly science-based programs led by Sensei guides, nutritionists, mindfulness coaches, and exercise physiologists.

Sensei Porcupine Creek

In January 2025, Sensei Porcupine Creek is hosting a four night long hiking retreat from January 16–20, where attendees travel through two trails in Indian Canyons under the guidance of their trademark Sensei guides. Along with the hike, there will be spa treatments, one on one Sensei meetings, yoga, and other activities for the wellness-obsessed. Given the glamorous programming, it only makes sense that the A-lister hotspot Nobu will be catering the retreat.

As for the cost? If you’re seeking a solo journey, single rooms are $13,200. Stay in a double and you’re looking at a mere $9,200, the retreat’s cheapest option. Since you’re likely normal and don’t have the funds for such excess, we’ve got you covered with guides to LA’s best (and more affordable) spas, much-cheaper-but-still-worth-it retreats, and least crowded (read: free) beaches.
